Op het Engelse platteland is er een plek waar het hart van elk paardenmeisje harder van gaat kloppen: ruiterschool Blossom Hill! De herfstvakantie is voorbij en Rosa keert terug naar Blossom Hill. Als de 12-jarige Rosalie hoort dat ze een beurs heeft gekregen voor ruiterschool Blossom Hill, is dat een droom die uitkomt. Op school moet ze een kamer delen met de Spaanse Carmen, de dochter van een rijke zakenman. Een groter verschil kan er niet zijn tussen de meisjes. Carmen heeft alles wat haar hartje begeert, waaronder twee prachtige arabieren. Toch is ze onaardig en opstandig en zegt ze geen woord tegen Rosalie. Als er door de schuld van Carmen een ongeluk gebeurt, probeert Rosalie te achterhalen wat er met Carmen aan de hand is. Zouden ze dan toch vriendinnen kunnen worden?
