In Een olifant op de thee zeurt de prinses om een hondje. Haar vader heeft nooit tijd om met haar te spelen, en hondjes, die hebben zeeën van tijd. Lakeien ook, maar die zijn saai, durven niets en vinden theedrinken uit een poppenserviesje een hoop gedoe. Helaas gaat de wens van de prinses niet in vervulling. Een hondje krijgt ze niet, maar tot ieders verbazing wordt er wel een olifant op het paleis bezorgd. Niemand weet daar raad mee, behalve de prinses. Maar het blijft behelpen natuurlijk, een olifant is nu eenmaal geen hondje.
